CÂU ĐỘC LẬP

Trong tiếng anh có một qui tắc : 2 mệnh đề trong một câu KHÔNG BAO GIỜ nối với nhau bằng một dấu

phẩy khi không có LIÊN TỪ . Xét 3 ví dụ sau :

ex1: There was no proof, the police let him go

ex2: Because there was no proof, the police let him go

ex3: My homework had been finish, I went out with my friend

Từ 3 ví dụ trên ta thấy ex1 và ex3 : 2 mệnh đề liên kết với nhau bằng dấu phẩy và không có liên từ --> sai vì

vi phạm qui tắc hơn nữa đọc câu ta sẽ thấy câu rất không liên quan nhau mặc dù nhìn qua nhiều bạn sẽ cho

là đúng.

ex2: đây là 1 câu hoàn chỉnh vì có liên từ BECAUSE

Vậy để đưa ex1 và ex3 về một câu đúng người ta qui nó về một loại câu gọi là CÂU ĐỘC LẬP mà không

cần sử dụng liên từ . Vậy câu độc lập là gì ?.

- CÂU ĐỘC LẬP là loại câu ở dạng rút gọn tạo cụm danh từ .

*Cách nhận biết : Với cấu trúc này thường thì 2 vế phải khác chủ ngữ và có dấu phẩy ngăn cách

SAU ĐÂY LÀ MỘT SỐ LOẠI CÂU ĐỘC LẬP THƯỜNG GẶP

LOẠI 1 :Danh từ (đại từ)+ phân từ hiện tại ( S+ Ving : dùng trong câu chủ động )

đưa

từ ex1 : There was no proof, the police let him go

--> There being no proof, the police let him go ( = because there was no proof, the police let him go ).

ex2: We shall play the match tomorrow, weather permitting. We shall play the match tomorrow if weather

permits )

ex3: The monitor being ill, we’d better put the meeting off. ( = because the monitor is ill, we’d better put the

meeting off.

Trường hợp này thường có 2 dạng sau :

1, There being +Danh từ (đại từ)

There being nothing else to do, we went home. ( because there was nothing to do, we went home )

There being no further business, I declare the meeting closed. ( tương tự )

2, It being +Danh từ (đại từ)

It being Christmas, the government offices were closed. ( =because itt was Christmas, the government

offices were closed )

It being a holiday, all the shops were shut. ( tương tự )

LOẠI 2 :Danh từ (đại từ)+ Phân từ quá khứ ( S+ P2 : bị động )

từ ex3: My home work finished, I went out with my friend ( = after my homewwork had been finished , I went

out with my friend )

ex2: More time given, we should have done the job much better. ( = if more time had been given , we should

have done the job much better )

* Loại 1 và 2 là 2 dạng hay gặp nhất !!!

LOẠI 3 :Danh từ (đại từ)+ động từ nguyên dạng

Nobody to come tomorrow, we will have to put off the meeting till next week.

So many people to help him, he is sure to succeed.

LOẠI 4:Danh từ (đại từ)+ giới từ

A girl came in, book IN hand.

He was waiting, his eyes on her back.

LOẠI 5:Danh từ (đại từ)+ tính từ hoặc phó từ

He sat in the front row, his mouth half open.

LOẠI 6: Trước cấu trúc độc lập có thể có giới từ “with”

Ex: Don’t sleep with the doors open.

He stood before his teacher with his head down.

He was lying on the bed with all his clothes on.

She came in with a book in her hand.

I won’t be able to go on holiday with my mother being ill.

He sat there with his eyes closed.

All the afternoon he worked with the door locked.
