‎- price war: war between companies, they try to reduce prices of what the sell, in order to get the most customers. Chiến tranh về giá, chỉ dành cho công ty.

- this mean war (only spoken): say that you are ready to fight or agure about sth

- cold war: an unfriendly situation between 2 countries and may be led to a war. 
another mean: a situation between US and Soviet Union after 2nd World War.

- war of nerves: an activity and attempt to make enemy afraid by wrong information, army/military drill or military exercise ... chiến tranh tâm lý=> collocation: army/military drill or military exercise = tập trận, diễn tập.

- war of words: (political) - a public argument between politicians.

- warrring factions/parties: a lot of diffirent national army fighting one nation. - tấn công tổng lực, đánh hội đồng

- wage war = make war = start a war
- a war rages = a war continues in a very violent ways, become worst.
- the outbreak of war = the time when a was starts
- the horrors of war (good for writing)

- a nuclear war >< a conventional war
- a war criminal: example: Pon Pot, no more words ?

some synonyms of war (be careful when u use it)
- conflict: offent use in news report, eg: oil conflict
- fighting = war, but in order to kill someone
- hostilities = war (in formal writing, especially in report of Goverment) ----- cease hostilities = stop a war
- warfare: use when talk about a kind and method of war, eg chemical, nuclear warfare.
- battle: just an occasion when two armies fight.
- combat = battle or = the act of fighting
- action: just use in some phrases: ... kill sb in action.
